Monday, December 31, 2018I first met Harry when I was in 10th grade at General Brown. He had volunteered to help with a nature center being developed on school property. I always credit him for fostering my interest in forestry which I went on to earn a degree in. I then followed his foot steps with a job at USDA Soil Conservation Service and later with a Soil and Water Conservation District. Needless to say, I worked with him many times over the years on many different projects. His quiet, thoughtful advice will be greatly missed. My condolences to the family.

Saturday, December 29, 2018For many years, we enjoyed the company of Harry and Sharon at our annual Harvest Dinners at our family pond. Harry always had a wonderful smile and story or funny comment. Harry and my dad were wonderful friends and solved many soil and water issues while working together on the Board. We are sorry for your loss of a wonderful husband and family member. We are sending prayers to everyone. Kim & Nancy LaFave

Saturday, December 29, 2018As the father of my very special friend Jeff, Mr. P. was like a second father to me, and my memories of spending time at the Potter home are some of the dearest, happiest, and fondest of my life. What really stood out, still vivid more than forty years later, was running with Jeff under fly balls Mr. P. hit to us out in the harvested fields. No one could hit fungos better than Mr. P., not even the great Jimmy Reese, despite what Sports Illustrated says! (https://www.si.com/vault/1979/08/27/823893/an-ongoing-fungoer-california-coach-jimmie-reese-is-the-oldest-and-best-fungo-hitter-around) I sure will miss him, but daydreaming about those fly balls with him and Jeff will ease the pain. What a great man. :) My deepest sympathy for Mrs. P. and everyone in the wonderful Potter family, whom I am proud to call my friends. Peter Greenhill

Saturday, December 29, 2018I was saddened to hear of Harry’s passing and my thoughts go out to Sharon and family. Sharon was always a good friend to my Mother via Sorority and by an odd quirk of fate we shared mutual friends. Proof that kindness and good stewardship of the land are timeless and not bound by one generation. It was an honor to have met him and share the stories.

Wednesday, December 26, 2018I am very sad to hear of Harry's passing. I knew him both through his work as a board member for the SWCD and through the planning board. He came to our local government conference faithfully for many years. I remember learning about sheep and apple trees from Harry. He was a great man and will be missed.

Wednesday, December 26, 2018Please accept my condolences on the loss of the patriarch of your family. Harry was a kind and gentle soul and was loved by all his in laws and their families. He lived a good life and accomplished so much, all the while helping other people and taking care of one little corner of God's creation. Though a humble man, he had much to be proud of and you can be proud of him. "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." May you treasure his memory Sincerely, Nancy Reding

Tuesday, December 25, 2018It is with a Heavy Heart, that I extend my sympathies to the whole Potter Family. I feel blessed to have know Mr.Potter & his Family, but knowing what a Blessed Life he had makes saying good-bye more bearable & having not an ounce of doubt in knowing that he stands at the right hand of Our Father, makes it all okay.

Tuesday, December 25, 2018Sharon I was so sorry to read about Harry's passing. I always remember when we had Sorority "Beginning Day" meetings at your house and Harry would be there to help carry food and things in then he would disappear so we could enjoy ourselves with just the "Sisters". You both always set great examples for how life should be lived for everyone you came in contact with. I hope you find comfort in your many years of memories. Harry will be missed by many. RIP in "the real" Harry Potter. Flossy Haley

Monday, December 24, 2018I have known Mr. Potter for most of my life as a member of the Brownville United Methodist Church. Mr. Potter has always greeted myself and my family with a smile and a soft handshake, always looking at me with his kind eyes. He has a way of making you feel at peace in the moment, through life's chaos. Seeing Mr. and Mrs. Potter in church made my Sundays bright and I will always be thankful for the love they are always willing to share. Sending all our love to the Potter's at this time. -The Monroe's
