Thursday, February 1, 2018Like so many others, Dr. Gould was my Greek professor at Houghton. I am fairly certain most of my favorite classroom memories are from three semesters and an independent study with Dr. Gould. He encouraged me in my academics, and I would certainly not be where I am now if it weren’t for him. May light perpetual shine upon him.

Monday, January 29, 2018Dick was a special friend of my family. He often was at our table after church when he lived in Geneva. When I attended Houghton I lived at his house. Often I was a recipient of his wonderful cooking and hospitality. He was an integral part of the Houghton community. I still have some mementos on my shelf today from his European travels. I am thankful to the Lord that our path crossed.

Monday, January 29, 2018I am so grateful for Dr. Gould and to have been one of his Greek minors. I learned so much from his knowledge, insight, and passion for the meaning of the text. Prayers for his family and loved ones. ❤️

Friday, January 26, 2018My sincere sympathies. I had the privilege of taking Greek with Professor Gould during my years at Houghton College. We had a small class. We told him once he reminded us of the kind grandfather on the Werther's Original candies commercials. The next class he showed up with a bag full of the candy to share with us. Fond memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Friday, January 26, 2018My sincere condolences to the entire family. Richard came to my home in 2013 and we shared Klock and Warriner family genealogy. On reviewing his genealogy books, I learned that he was also in the Cole and Wait lines and we exchanged photos and information. We also toured Oakwood Cemetery and Old Theresa Cemetery together. We exchanged e-mail in researching our common ancestry. I will miss his pen pal friendship and genealogy questions. Tom LaClair, Clayton, New York.
