James W. Robbins, 78 of NYS Rte 180, Dexter passed away at his home April 13th with his family by his side.
James was born October 28, 1938 in Dexter the son of Roswell and Mildred Fluery Robbins. He graduated from Dexter High School.
James married Agnes R. Raymond on October 21, 1960 at the Dexter United Methodist Church Parsonage. The couple lived in Dexter and moved to Limerick several years ago.
Jim worked as a mechanic for the New York State DOT until his retirement. He liked working on old cars and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife Agnes, two daughters and their husbands: Theresa and Linden Mehaffy of Dexter and Dawn and Guy Tefft of Dexter, a son James Jr. of Portland, Oregon and five grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. He has a sister Betty and Dewey Kirch of Carthage and was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Austin.
A Memorial service will be held Tuesday April 18th at 11:00 AM at the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church with Pastor King officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church or Hospice of Jefferson County 1398 Gotham St. Watertown, NY 13601.
