Martin F. Weaver, 87 of Chaumont, passed away Monday morning at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Martin was born May 24, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Leonard and Elizabeth Holleran Weaver. In 1942 the family moved to Huntersland and in 1956 to Massena.
He married Lois Sherman on May 15, 1954.
Martin worked for the Seaway Project with Buckley Mack Co. as a mechanic and after the couple moved to Watertown he worked was a mechanic for several businesses. In 1971 they moved to Chaumont and worked for Niagara Mohawk until retiring in 1992.
He is survived by three sons and one daughter: Joseph M and Genie Weaver of Lake Bonapart, David A. and Jo Weaver of Central Square, Gary P. and Dianne Weaver of Gouverneur, and Linda and David Raville of Chaumont. He has 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A brother George and Susan Weaver of Durham, NY and a sister Ann and Ray Lynch of Edgewater, Florida also survive.
A brother James Weaver and a sister Dorothy Bauer predeceased him.
He was a communicant of All Saints Church of Chaumont and Immaculate Conception Church of Brownville.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church of Brownville with Fr. Michael Gaffney officiating. Burial will be in New Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont. Calling hours will be at Immaculate Conception Church from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the funeral. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County 1398 Gotham St. Watertown, NY 13601.
